Yarn Bases

Hand dyed in an array of 60+ colors (semisolids, tonals, and speckled), our yarn is sourced from farms and suppliers who prioritize ethical, sustainable practices.

Suri Alpaca Yarn Base

Soft, warm, and velvety, our Suri Alpaca yarn is brushed to create a soft, airy halo, with a smooth drape. This 2-ply, lace-weight blend is made from 74% Suri Alpaca and 26% Silk. Suri Alpaca offers a more muted, velvety finish than Mohair, while remaining cozy, lightweight, and effortlessly elegant.

 

Mohair Yarn Base

Silky, smooth, and airy, our Mohair yarn comes from Angora goats and is a 1-ply, lace-weight yarn. The yarn is a blend of 74% Kid Mohair and 26% Silk, which adds elegance, halo and warmth to every knit and crochet project

 

Phyllis Sock Yarn Base

Soft, and durable, our Phyllis Sock yarn blends the luxurious feel of Merino wool with the sturdy support of Nylon. This 4-ply, fingering weight base is made from 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon, creating a yarn with beautiful drape and everyday practicality that holds up to frequent wear.

Merino Sock Yarn Base

Warm and springy, our Merino Sock yarn comes from Merino sheep and is a 2-ply, high-twist, fingering weight yarn. The yarn is a blend of 80% Superwash Merino and 20% Nylon, which gives it an ideal blend of stitch definition, softness, and strength.

Single Sock Yarn Base

Soft and rich, our Single Sock yarn is a single-ply, fingering weight that’s 100% Superwash Merino, with a high-twist construction that minimizes pilling and enhances stitch definition. This sock yarn takes color beautifully and feels soft and luxurious in every project.

Spun Sock XL Yarn Base

Plush and elegant, our Spun Sock XL yarn is a 2-ply, high-twist fingering weight blend of 80% Superwash Merino, 10% Cashmere, and 10% Nylon. Harvested from the soft, downy undercoat of cashmere goats, the cashmere adds unmatched softness, while the high-twist construction of the yarn provides strength, crisp stitch definition, and a beautiful drape.

Soft, lofty, and plush, our Wild Sock yarn base is a 2-ply, fingering weight yarn made from 100% Non-Superwash Colorado Merino wool. Spun locally within the Mountains & Plains Fibershed, the yarn offers exquisite softness and natural beauty, while supporting regional ranches and mills.

DK Yarn Base

Soft and durable, our DK yarn base is a 4-ply, DK weight yarn made from 100% Superwash Merino. Soft to the touch, yet sturdy enough for everyday wear, DK is a crowd favorite at Hue Loco. Our DK yarn offers excellent versatility for all your knitting and crochet projects.

Phyllis DK Yarn Base

Plush, soft, and versatile, our Phyllis DK yarn base is a 4-ply blend of 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon, offering durability and everyday wearability. Available exclusively in 20-gram minis and sets, Phyllis DK is perfect for small projects, colorwork, and experimenting with vibrant color combinations.

Our Wild DK yarn base is a 2-ply, DK weight yarn that’s made from 100% Non-Superwash Colorado Merino wool. Spun locally within the Mountains & Plains Fibershed, Wild DK offers gentle loft and versatile performance. This yarn is perfect for sweaters, accessories, and everyday knit and crochet projects.

Worsted Yarn Base

Soft and durable, our Worsted yarn base is a 4-ply, worsted weight yarn that’s made from 100% Superwash Merino. Perfect for quick-knit and crochet projects, worsted is a versatile staple for all your knitting and crochet creations.

Squishy, warm and robust, our Bulky yarn base is a 3-ply, bulky weight yarn made from 100% Superwash Merino. Generous 250-gram skeins make this yarn perfect for large knitting and crochet projects, offering next-to-skin comfort and excellent stitch definition.
